About Me

I became a dad very shortly after my wife Ally and I bought our first house. Big changes. Real fast. And suddenly, I’m sitting there in my new house with our brand new baby and I am saying to myself “who the heck is Dave Norton?” I left my last name out of that reflection – I knew who the Dave I was referring to was – but now you’re here asking that same question.

Since then, my wife and I have had a second child and opened up two retail stores in our hometown of Flemington where we are on the front lines of our small town’s renaissance. I began Flemington Focus, a social media account with 7k+ followers and recently founded the Society of Neighbors, a volunteer/mutual aid group.

I like to stay busy; I have ADHD, am three years sober from alcohol (working out pretty well!), and I like to think about solving big problems in ways that are unconventional. I really enjoy action. Not like movies or TV, but the act of doing, creating, being present. Action with intent. And action movies ok sure sure fine but like, ones made with intent.

I’m very empathetic. It works well for us in the studio but it’s a double-edged sword – I well up when strangers tell me sad stories or I see a picture of a lonely cat. I do ask kindly that you don’t show that sad cat to my wife though. She’ll ask me if we can adopt it and I’ll have to remind her that we already have four of ’em (and two big dogs).

I am hopelessly addicted to dynasty fantasy football, I have a home gym in my garage that I actually get out and use sometimes, I love house music and consider it one of my greatest achievements that my kids also like it. For now. They’re still young and haven’t grown out of the “my dad might be ok” phase though. Give ’em time.

We’ve got plenty to talk about now! See you soon.
